We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer who sets direction, brings energy and leads colleagues towards our ambitious future. Putting our quality standards even stronger and implementing a collective way of working, in line with our people-first philosophy with which we bring an infectious work culture to clients is high on your agenda. As a result, you will inspire existing and new clients, and pave the way to roll out the Rockstars philosophy beyond our borders. Sounds big? It is. Not an easy job, but one that is very cool to do!
Your impact
As CTO of Team Rockstars IT, you are the technological conscience of the organization. You set the tech course, and ensure that this course does not remain stuck in a strategy document, but lands in practice, in processes, choices, training paths and with our people. You combine vision with execution power. You build this vision by translating innovative technologies and trends into our business goals.
You represent technology on the organization’s board, making you a decisive voice in our strategic choices. You have a technical background and know exactly which developments matter, and how we can respond to them today.
You will work closely with our commercial teams and the Strategy & Execution teams. You will sit in on conversations with clients and technology partners, delve into their challenges, and translate them into technical opportunities, both short and long term. You enjoy sparring with CIOIs and CTOs on the client side, helping clients in sectors such as energy, finance, high-tech and public to look ahead: where is it going, what does that require of their IT roadmap, and how can our Rockstars make a difference there? This input gives a boost to our value propositions, which you will take to market together with colleagues.
You also keep a keen eye on the market. You follow technological developments, read your heart out (blogs, papers, newsletters, events) and translate what you see and learn into concrete implications for our organization, our colleagues and our customers. You actively make yourself heard; you are a face to the outside world.
And perhaps most importantly, you facilitate mastery as the foundation of job happiness. Our philosophy is crystal clear: the employee comes first. Together with the Rockademy and the community leads, you provide career paths that match where the world is moving. You help our Rockstars grow in their specialty, their role, their passion. You ensure that our internal tech organization stands like a house. This is organized into expert communities: Java, .NET, frontend, agile, architecture, Test Automation, AI, data, security and cloud. Together with the community leads, you give direction to the substantive development of these disciplines. You create the structure, frameworks and vision in which craftsmanship can flourish, so that each community can strengthen its expertise and contribute strategically to the future of Team Rockstars IT.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in a strategic, technical role (preferably as a CTO, CIO or similar position).
- Experience in managing professionals both directly and indirectly (e.g. in matrix structure).
- HBO/WO working and thinking level.
- A strong strategic and commercial sense: you understand the market, our customers and know how to translate technical vision into value.
- You have a proven track record in establishing and developing a tech organization within a fast-growing organization.
- You are aware of technological trends and developments, and know how to translate these into opportunities for our organization and our people.
- You have experience with IT landscapes of large organizations (corporate Netherlands / public sector).
- You have a technical background, and can also translate this to the business, you know where technology adds value, and how to make that value visible.
- You actively read, learn and share: from edge tech to enterprise trends, you know what’s relevant, and what’s not.
- You can translate complex content into direction, structure and action.
- You are connecting, decisive and know how to get people moving.
