Team Rockstars IT has grown since its inception in 2015 to become a top-3 developers house in the Netherlands with a team of more than 450 selected Software Developers. This is what energizes you
As a strategic account manager, you will further develop our cool concept with mainly our largest and most complex customers within the ‘Central, North East’ region. Through your knowledge of the market and intrinsic motivation to help customers, you identify opportunities, know what questions are at stake, think about strategy and are able to translate business issues into our services – IT projects and software built by our IT Rockstars. You are able to be a full discussion partner for both management and, for example, Product Owners. You don’t do this alone, of course; you work intensively with marketing, recruitment, field management and our CTO office, as well as regularly sparring with your other sales colleagues. You know how to set up an account team and mobilize your own organization to position the best of Team Rockstars IT with clients. We think big and a lot is possible to achieve a 9+ experience with both the client and our Rockstars!
And then what are you concerned with?
- Full sales & account ownership – from origination to closing deals and from relationship & account management to building your network;
- Planfully and with focus continue to grow your clients;
- Identify DMUs, actively work with them and use them to quickly build a network;
- Work closely with your colleagues in marketing and the CTO office, as well as partners such as AWS & Microsoft, to position the best of Team Rockstars IT;
- Work in a multidisciplinary team: you will collaborate with our IT recruiters, field managers and IT Rockstars from your region;
- Active networking, spotting opportunities and giving input on them, meeting targets and opening new doors;
- Together with your team, make sure your region rocks!
Agenda that energizes you
9:00-10:00: Week begins! Consult with the team about the week’s goals and priorities.
10:00-11:00: Review of projects, monitoring of schedule and budget.
11:00-12:00: Preparing for your client interview, including going over their annual report again.
13:00-14:00: Client conversation focusing on their aspirations and how we can help.
14:00-16:00: Update the CRM system and your Account Plan. In doing so, you immediately set out all kinds of actions based on your customer conversation.
16:00-17:00: Provide informal training to other sales colleagues on how to work with an Account Team.
9:00-09:30: Time for your admin! Not always fun, has to be done.
09:30-10:00 You will follow up on previous actions and have a short call with our CTO office.
10:00-11:00 You prepare again for another client meeting
11:00-12:00: A 1-on-1 with your manager during a walk in the sunshine
13:00-14:00: Feedback session with the sales team on how we can get better together.
14:00-15:00: Perform quality control checks on the completed projects.
15:00-16:00 Customer conversation in a new domain. You are trying to find parentheses for follow-up steps.
16:00-17:00: Preparing a quote for a new assignment.
9:00-11:00: Meeting with your team to discuss opportunities and successes. How do we make sure our region rocks?
11:00-12:00 Follow up actions after your customer calls.
13:00-14:00: Ears in and focus! You recalibrate your plan and figure out how to make an even greater impact with your client. What does that require?
14:00-16:00: Together with your colleague on the road to the customer.
And once a quarter:
18:00 – 21:00: Chapter Meeting! The meeting where the whole chapter comes together.
9:00-10:00: You have an Account Team meeting, trying to pick up news through your “Rockstars on the Ground.
10:00-11:00 You call a colleague or manager to spar about a sales case.
11:00-12:00: Discuss your progression and results with your manager.
13:00-14:00: Participate in an online seminar on the latest technologies.
14:00-16:00: Back on the road to the customer! You will make a presentation in collaboration with our CTO office.
16:00-17:00: Dealing with administration and preparing a to-do list for the next day.
9:00-10:00: Consult with your Account Teams on project progress and set up new actions.
13:00-14:00: Meeting with marketing team on marketing strategy for attracting new customers.
16:00-17:00: Discuss the week’s results and plans for the coming week with the team. With a small drink of course! 🙂
This is where you recognize yourself
Nobody fits all the boxes, but if you come very close to a perfect score you may call immediately!
- You have at least 7 years of relevant sales experience within the IT services/delivery market;
- You are commercial and proactive;
- You know how to set up an account team and manage it as a director;
- You are able to translate business themes into IT/software opportunities;
- You are a full discussion partner for both management and operations (such as Product Owners);
- You are an active networker, target driven, creative and a perseverer;
- Living in the Utrecht, Gelderland or Overijssel region;
- You have a college or university degree;

- Pre: you have a relevant network and/or industry knowledge;
